Hi!
My name is disneygal101, and I am your insider on (almost) everything Disney related! I have lots of facts and can't wait to share it with all of you!
On this blog, I will give you lots of fun information, but then put YOU to the test. These so-called tests are part of the 'D.Y.T.Y.K.Disney' quiz series made by disneygal101 herself (me!). There will soon be polls for you to take online, as well. Are you ready? Great!
This summer, I traveled to Disneyland's sister park, Walt Disney World. It is named after the great Walt Disney himself. If you've never been, let's just say it's way different than Disneyland. There are many shows at Hollywood Studios, so get ready to enter Florida's mini Disney version of Hollywood! Tower of Terror is different too, but let's not get that far into detail. I don' want to spoil it.
If you are used to entering Disneyland and having California Adventure and Downtown Disney right there, you might want to think twice before going to WDW. If you are coming from somewhere far and going to Disney World, find a good place to stay and RENT A CAR!!! It takes about a good 15-20 minutes to get to each park.
Disney World is very unique. Especially Cinderella's Castle. Inside the beautiful castle, there is a suite called the CCS (Cinderella Castle Suite). Very rarely, people usually only stay for about two nights, because it is so expensive. If you want to stay, pull out your wallet!
Since you know that much already, let's travel back in time to Disneyland. Imagine this: people running through the gates, laughter all around you, it's Disneyland's grand opening! Did you know that back in the day, kids would get in FREE on their birthdays? It's true! Tickets didn't cost that much, everyone was happy. It was truly the happiest place on earth. Until they came.
Businesses saw Disneyland as a way to make money. Walt and his brother, Roy Disney wern't happy. There were motels, restaurants, outlets, and on the other side was good old happy Disneyland.
Walt decided to go to Florida and start an even bigger project when Disneyland was 16. Then came Disney World. Disney World is now 44, but over at Disneyland, there is a celebration going on!
Disneyland is turning 60!!!
I'm so happy! The castle looks stunning with the diamonds. But then again, it is the diamond anniversary! (Limited edition diamond anniversary pins are here!) If you go, be sure to check out Disneyland's 'Paint the Night'. If you're in Florida, see the Main Street Electrical Parade and Celebrate the Magic at magic Kingdom. At California Adventure, don't miss out on Tower of Terror, California Screaming, or World of Color: Disneyland Forever.
See you real soon!
